Back at work

I am very happy to announce that J is back at work full time and is starting to get into a routine of getting up early. It now means I'm getting up an hour earlier, trying to wake him up and then making him lunch and breakfast while he showers. But today was worth it when we got his first pay check of $1330 clear for a week. We've worked out an allowance for him and he is trying to budget. When he does eventually stop smoking (which he tells me is a work in progress and will happen one day) he will save an extra $120 a week!

So for the time being and particularly because we just spend $8000 buying J a new car, we are going to focus on getting back into the swing of things with his work and I'm putting no pressure on him in regards to renovations. When J is good and ready, I know he'll do an awesome job. I'm prepared to wait for the house, because his health and happiness is more important to me and I know he doesn't handle stress well (or multi-tasking!) Besides, we're still waiting for the final approval from council so things have worked out this way for a reason.

The best thing about today is J and I now have a long weekend to look forward to and can both now relax because we've both worked hard this week!
